CONTROS HydroC ® CO2 FT is a sensor for measuring the partial pressure of CO2 in surface seawater, mainly used for navigation monitoring equipment (such as Ferrybox) and station laboratory applications. CONTROS HydroC ® CO2 FT sensors can be applied in various research fields, including ocean acidification research, climate research, air sea exchange, lake and marsh research, freshwater utilization, aquaculture/fishery, carbon capture and storage monitoring, measurement and validation (CCS-MMV), etc.

Independent 'In Situ' calibration

All sensors undergo independent calibration in a calibration tank before leaving the factory, and the temperature of the calibration tank simulates the conditions of the deployment environment. The certified reference circulation system is used to verify the concentration of ρ CO2 in the calibration water tank, and high-quality standard gases are used to calibrate the reference circulation system before and after each sensor calibration. working principle

Seawater is pumped into CONTROS HydroC through a flow head ® In the CO2 FT sensor, the flow head is equipped with a water temperature sensor. The dissolved CO2 gas diffuses into the gas circuit inside the sensor through a new TOUGH permeable membrane, enters the detector chamber, and the partial pressure of CO2 is measured by NDIR infrared absorption spectroscopy. The concentration of CO2 is closely related to the infrared light absorption intensity. After calibration coefficients stored inside the instrument and calculation correction of additional sensor data in the gas circuit, the absorption intensity is converted into a measurement output value, thereby measuring the carbon dioxide content in the water body.
